Seaweed snacks are packaged individually with a plastic tray and silica gel packs and wrapped in plastic. Then, multiple snacks are packaged together in another piece of plastic. In my design, I wanted to eliminate plastic as a whole while still keeping the individually packaged design to maintain the idea of a snack. I wanted to find a sustainable alternative for safe silica gel for children. In terms of design, I wanted to update the overall style. Leaning into the natural and organic themes of the brand playfully will help Annie Chun’s compete against other brands.
